We are live streaming part of the event and putting the Top 10 plays on Comcast On Demand. This is a big deal for us! YourSports.com signs an exclusive 3-year deal with Spokane’s Hoopfest to stream all Dairy Farmers of Washington Youth Center Court Games live online June 28-29

Spokane’s Hoopfest is the largest 3-on-3 street basketball tournament in the world and it will break its own registration record this year with 6,375 teams and over 25,000 athletes—but that’s not the only reason it just got bigger. YourSports.com will be streaming its Youth Center Court live online, while the Top 10 plays from the tournament will be available on Comcast On Demand beginning July 1st. Fans and athletes can submit their own videos for a chance to make the Top 10 highlight show which marks a first in user-generated sports content for Comcast.

YourSports.com signed an exclusive 3-year deal for the online media rights to Hoopfest. The local Seattle startup will also produce a Top 10 highlight show from the tournament, and in a deal with Comcast’s regional Seattle network, will make the show available to its 800,000+ cable On Demand subscribers throughout July.

Spokane Hoopfest is the largest 3-on-3 street basketball tournament in the world. Held the last weekend in June each summer, the tournament brings approximately 6,200 teams totaling 24,000 players and 200,000 fans to downtown Spokane, WA. Covering 40 city blocks with 400 playing courts and 100 acres of Riverfront Park, Hoopfest makes a $30 million annual economic impact.

Additional Highlights:

- We just sold PEMCO the sponsorship to the event, which covers all of our costs and even brings in a little profit! This is our 2nd major sponsor.

- Additionally, Comcast will be promoting the Hoopfest10 highlight show by running 600 ($75,000 marketing value) commercials in the Seattle and Spokane market on channels like ESPN and during Mariners games throughout the month of July. An excellent marketing opportunity for the YourSports brand, and I think the beginning of a solid relationship with Comcast. We’re now one of the first sports 2.0 companies to bring user-generated content to the television.

- Five YourSports team members will be in Spokane promoting the event, and Stu Evey from our Board of Advisors graciously opened up his house for us to stay during the weekend. Stu is the former Chairman and Co-Founder of ESPN. Chris McCoy (CEO/Founder of YourSports) met him during his college days, as they were in the same fraternity.
